Hello! My name is Layton Thacker and I’m a student journalist at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a multimedia journalist with interests in entertainment and production.

I am an undergraduate junior pursuing a bachelor’s in Journalism and am based out of Austin Texas. I am currently employed at YMH Studios as a social media intern, but have worked at The Daily Texan as a general video producer and at First Presbyterian Church of Houston as a camera operator.

I have recently been admitted to UT’s UTNY program and will be spending the summer of 2026 interning in New York City! I’m excited to take part in such a wonderful program where I can grow my skills in a fast paced and ever changing city.
